Health Care for All:
Tennessee is in the midst of a health care crisis which also faces the entire nation.
Tennesseans took a big hit in 2006, when 330,000 poor and uninsurable men, women and children were taken off of Tenncare. Many of those people will die prematurely as they are unable to get the critical care they need in order to stay alive. In addition they add to the total of 700,000 Tennesseans without health insurance.
I will work to ensure that Health Care for All is the second priority of my tenure of service, only second to ending the war in Iraq in terms of its immediate importance.
I will support Universal Health Care legislation which will ensure that all Americans have access to health care, preventative care, long term care and universal health insurance through a Canadian style single payer system.
